Mental Health Counselling Services for children and adults
Mental Health Counsellors work with individuals, groups, and families to help them manage and overcome their mental health challenges. Counsellors conduct assessments, and screenings, for mental health disorders. We develop personalized treatment plans for our clients. and do referrals when needed to other resources.
Counsellors provide counselling, therapy, and support to individuals, groups, and families, helping them address and manage their mental health concerns.
We use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Play-based Therapy. Here’s a brief description of each:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): This is a form of psychological treatment that has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness. It helps people understand how thoughts affect emotions and behaviours.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): DBT is a type of talk therapy for people who experience emotions very intensely. It’s a common therapy for people with borderline personality disorder, but therapists provide it for other mental health conditions as well.
Mindfulness Therapy: This is a type of talk therapy that focuses on learning how to be more aware and to reduce automatic responses. It involves conversations with professionals that help a person develop greater awareness of their thoughts and the world around them.
These therapies can be used individually or in combination depending on the needs of the client always with a trauma-informed perspective. The ultimate goal is to improve the client’s well-being and help them lead healthier and more fulfilling lives
